14 - Shuyin (Final Fantasy X-2)
In the end, I decided that Shuyin took this spot over Tidus. You could call Tidus brave seeing as he’s the one who died at the end of FFX - but he wasn’t REAL. He was going to disappear no matter what. He never really grew out of his selfishness, only pushed Yuna to disobey her journey and defeat Sin in her own way.
Shuyin, on the other hand, IS real. So real and so devoted to the woman he loves (Lenne) that even after he was killed (a thousand years before the events of FFX) he walks undead to find her and menace the spira that took her away from him - all just to tell her of his love. He’s an antagonist, but a misguided one. The lengths he goes for his woman are admirable. These lengths are echoed when Tidus, the dream, is modeled after him, but it was Shuyin who had this love in the first place. Even Yuna can feel it.
